Hello Readers,Hope you all are fine.Today i will talk about most of the coaching centers in my country (Pakistan) and especially in my city ( Karachi).
When a person buys a Toyota( Reputed car company), he test the car for mileage and comfort and many more things ,when anyone selects a cell phone then he also checks and does not go only the name of company. But when a student in my country goes to coaching centers , they only go after the name of coaching center (Not the quality of education).
I am not against the big names in coaching industry ( As i call it) but what i want to say is that student has to choose coaching center by quality of education.
How coaching centers trap the students?
Many of the coaching centers collects advance fee of the year which is not refundable so when students submits the fee and start taking the classes and understands nothing then there is no way out for them and it is the compulsion for him/her to be in that coaching center .That's can be fault of any one ,the teacher or the student but the one who suffer is the student.
Why most of the big names are qualitatively small?
Now a days many big coaching centers give their name for advance of 2.5 lac and 50 to 40 % of every months earning.So if i want to earn big time i have to take name of a big coaching center and then earn as long as students shows stupidity of going after name.Let me tell you a small story that happens very near to me.In khokhrapar (east of Karachi) there is a coaching center named "The collegiate" which is maintaining its name in quality of education.This year some of its teacher took a franchise of "The professors academy" near to the previous mentioned coaching center.Now they have convinced the students by text and call on cell phones .In the franchise there is no professor and they are making use of the names of Professors of the main branch so how can we think that theses cheap trappers can teach anybody?
The basic part of a coaching center is education after that you can count location , building , chairs ,name e.t.c but the first thing is education.
How can big coaching centers show the list of bright students?
Talking about statistics always remember they hide more what they actually shows. If a coaching center can show 20 students name having great results i will ask them to show the total number of students and how many of them are fail.Believe me if 20 students got A+ grade then twice or thrice of them must be failed.The coaching centers advertise the great students and hide their worst .My dear reader,70 % of your results depends upon you,coaching centers can coach you but in the examination , you have to deliver .
So my dear readers explain it to yourself ,your younger, brother ,sister that don't go after big names .I can bet if you want to have good grades Read your text book.(I see many students go for for English learning institutes but believe me if you read your text book regularly your English will automatically improve),Have company of good students,Select a good teacher for you and last but not the least learn at least one hour daily.

ReplyDeletei have read ur blog & found it very much near to the reality. 1 thing i want to add is, these so called coaching centers do not have quality teachers. they do not understand the thing that every one who had scored big in his educational career, cannot deliver what he has learnt.
for example, how many times you have seen Mr. javiad miandad & sir vivan Richards teached coaching tips to their national teams, every one knew about the outcomes of that. there is no doubt about how great players they are, i always admire them but it does not means that they will teach their best to their upcoming stars.
an average teacher can deliver what you expect from a brilliant one. its just like accepting the responsibility, I strongly believe that failure of a student is a failure of teacher. if our teacher focuses on their weak student, things will get change.
Yes i agree with your point so in coaching centers like" Practical Center" where teacher is bound to take 5 to 6 continuous classes he can't give attention to all students then the bright students can learn but weak students get worse.

ReplyDeleteBut, yes i can give you all my example i have never taken any coaching and still i am completely satisfied with my grades. What i did, is very simple i just used to went through the whole book and learn it not "memorize" the text! then just go for exam with a little prayer and with a great effort you will surely have high ranking scores :)
Yes, that's i want to listen, student herself saying that learning ( not memorizing ) whole book is enough...that's good.

ReplyDeleteOnce you have understand(learn) the thing i guess you can write it by own no need to copy the text and after this you don't need a good or a bad coaching!
Yeah, i think learning whole book is easier than memorizing whole book

ReplyDeleteToday, running a coaching center is the best business, especially the one for entry(admission) test preparation. Does anybody know the fees for Entry Test preparation in one of the best coaching center in Karachi namely Anees Hussain? its 25,000 Rs only. that means they can earn one lac through only 4 students and in every season there are more than 500 students. If you do the multiplication; you will get the answer in crore...
